Former Georgia Bulldogs star linebacker Jalon Walker has picked his NFL jersey number with the Atlanta Falcons, and he's got some pretty big shoes to fill at the next level.

Walker will wear No. 11 for Atlanta, the same number Falcons legendary wide receiver Julio Jones wore for 10 years.

Jones, who becomes eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2029, left the Falcons after the 2020 season and played his final year with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. Widely regarded as the greatest receiver in franchise history, Jones racked up 848 catches for 12,896 receiving yards and 60 touchdowns in 13 seasons, which ultimately set a gold standard in Atlanta that may not be touched for years.

The good news is that Walker, who wore No. 11 during his time at Georgia, knows a thing or two about living up to the gold standard after playing under head coach Kirby Smart.

The Falcons could see that from miles away and selected Walker with the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, marking the first time the franchise has ever used a first-round pick on a Bulldogs player.

Regardless of what number is on Walker's jersey, he is poised to make an immediate impact at the next level. He concluded his junior year at Georgia with a standout performance, earning the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker.

Over three seasons at Georgia, Walker appeared in 43 games and made 11 starts, all coming in 2024. During his collegiate career, he amassed 12.5 sacks and 18 tackles for loss. His final season marked a breakout performance as a first-year starter, notching 6.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss.
