Michigan football finished near the top of the NCAA in total defense this year, a huge program win that was obscured by their offense's abysmal performance.
The Wolverines finished near the bottom of Division-I in offense and were beset by fumbles and ineffectiveness in their five losses against eight wins on the season.
On Dec. 31, fired Michigan offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell sent a message to fans amid an action-packed bowl season, appearing in good spirits as the calendar year drew to a close despite being relieved of his coaching duties in Ann Arbor recently.
"Happy New Year! 2024 was a great year," Campbell said on his X account, including pictures of the year's successful national championship run. "Blessings to all in 2025!"

Campbell served as the Wolverines' quarterback coach for JJ McCarthy, a future first round pick, as Michigan won the 2023-2024 national championship in Houston, Texas.
Campbell did not seem the least bit upset in his post after being relieved of his duties as Michigan offensive coordinator in favor of former North Carolina coach Chip Lindsey, choosing to focus on the positive.
The Wolverines' offense could take a big leap next season with the additions of Mikey Keene, a quarterback and transfer from Fresno State, and Bryce Underwood, the Class of 2025's number one player, who both could add some juice to a position that hasn't been up to snuff in recent months for the Wolverines.
