It was first reported by WBRZ that LSU quarterback Colin Hurley was involved in an on-campus car crash this Thursday morning. He was found "unresponsive" in his vehicle.

According to the authorities, Hurley crashed his Dodge Charger into a tree at South Quad Drive and Highland Road. Although he was found unresponsive, he was breathing at that time. The EMS and fire department at the scene transported him to a nearby hospital in Baton Rouge.

"Officials said Hurley was unresponsive but breathing. A crash report said firefighters pulled Hurley out of his vehicle. He was in and out of consciousness and had a large cut on his face," the report from WBRZ said.

Shortly after the news broke, LSU senior associate athletic director Zach Greenwell told ESPN, "We are working through proper protocols with his family before we can have any comment."

Well, the Hurley family just released a statement moments ago. Thankfully, the young quarterback is in stable condition.

"Colin would like to thank the first responders, the incredible doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Health and the many Tiger Fans for their care and compassion," the Hurley family said. "Colin is resting and is stable while more tests and care are being administered. We are confident that Colin will make a full recovery from this terrible accident. Geaux Tigers!"

The cause of Hurley's crash has not been released at this time. The initial reports said the authorities didn't suspect impairment.

Hurley, the No. 22 quarterback from the 2024 recruiting class, didn't receive any playing time for LSU this season.

We're certainly wishing Hurley a full and speedy recovery.
