Ojo picked Joey McGuire’s Red Raiders over Texas, Utah, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Colorado and Alabama on July 4 after receiving a fully guaranteed $5.1 million player compensation deal. He is one of the top recruits in the class and showcased his talent in January at the Polynesian Bowl and Navy All-American Bowl.
Furthermore, Texas Tech was able to give Ojo the contract after oil tycoon Cody Campbell made multiple significant investments in the school’s NIL fund. He led a group of donors that spent more than $55 million on NIL contracts and approximately $300 million to upgrade the program's athletic facilities.
The Red Raiders' 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 22 in the country. The class is highlighted by four-star cornerbacks S’Vioarean Martin and Donovan Webb alongside three-star wide receiver Tieson Ejiawoko.
