Final Florida Injury Report vs. Arkansas: Two Gators Starting DL Out

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators will be without starting defensive linemen, nose tackle Cam Jackson and edge rusher Tyreak Sapp, for Florida's Week 10 matchup against Arkansas.

Jackson and Sapp were listed as questionable for the matchup on Florida's Week 10 injury report, as both players are nursing upper body injuries. Neither player participated in pre-game warmups or dressed out for the game, by All Gators' observation.

The duo of Jackson and Sapp has combined for 42 total tackles this season, with Sapp adding two sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup.

Florida head coach Billy Napier hinted at Jackson and Sapp's looming unavailability upon the release of UF's injury report on Wednesday night, suggesting that a handful of underclassmen will take on more snaps than their typical workload on Saturday.

"You're going to see Kelby Collins more often, you'll see Jack Pyburn more often, you're going to see Jamari [Lyons] more often, Chris McClellan more often," Napier said. "So, all the guys that have been playing will continue to play. They'll just play a little bit more."

Pyburn, Collins and Kamran James are considered co-first-teamers by Florida's depth chart with Sapp out. Lyons and Desmond Watson are similarly split behind Jackson at nose tackle on the depth chart.

Florida previously deemed linebacker Shemar James, wide receivers Caleb Douglas and Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman, and tight end Jonathan Odom out of the game on Wednesday. James, a starter and UF's leading tackler, will miss the remainder of the 2023 season after undergoing surgery on his left knee.
