Final score prediction for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish battle against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Matt Cashore-Imagn Images

This game against Georgia Tech is going to be a massive one for Notre Dame football. After having a dominant victory over Stanford last week, teams at times could feel themselves a little too much. The Irish also play Navy next week, and everyone knows the challenges that game can present. It’s not quite a trap game, but there are some factors that could lead to somewhat of a letdown.

On the offensive side of the football, the Irish are going to have to have some big moments in the passing game. Quarterback Riley Leonard has been trending upward, and is coming off of his best outing last week against Stanford. He’s facing another struggling secondary, and it will be key to grabbing the victory.

For the Notre Dame defense, they are going to have to be solid in space. The Yellow Jackets have a ton of speed on their offense, including running back Jamal Haynes, and wide receivers Eric Singleton Jr. and Malik Rutherford. With the Irish having Benjamin Morrison out injured in the secondary, younger defensive backs like Leonard Moore and Karson Hobbs will need to step up.

The major key for Notre Dame to win is to dominate the matchup up front on both sides of the football. Georgia Tech has a rock solid offensive line, but the Irish defensive line should have the advantage led by Howard Cross III. If the Irish offensive line shows up, this game could be lopsided for Notre Dame.

Score prediction: Notre Dame 31, Georgia Tech 16
