Downs is now the 15th player to commit to Nick Saban's team in the current recruiting cycle, which has been a very interesting one, especially for the SEC teams. Alabama has been the focal point of rumors and controversy this offseason after multiple coaches from other programs accused Saban and his program of illegal recruiting practices.
Georgia, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Ohio State were just a few of the teams also trying to recruit Downs.
