The Florida Gators have already lost quarterback DJ Lagway to the transfer portal , and they are doing everything they can to keep running back Jadan Baugh in Gainesville. The latest report could end up doing just that, as head coach Jon Sumrall, offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, and new running backs coach Chris Porter are traveling to meet with Baugh.
Sources tell @CBSSports that Florida OC Buster Faulkner and new running backs coach Chris Foster are set to travel with head coach Jon Sumrall tomorrow to meet with Jadan Baugh in hopes of keeping the All-SEC running back at Floridahttps://t.co/9gqZEsoVT6 pic.twitter.com/cENskactOO

The Gators know how important Baugh is to them, and reports have surfaced they are offering him a significant NIL package to stay in Gainesville. He ran for over 1,000 yards this past season, and his performance against the Florida State Seminoles was the second-best game by a running back in program history, behind just Emmitt Smith.
The top reason why Baugh might be tempted to leave Gainesville could be money, but the likely reason is his position coach. Baugh was really close with former Gators running backs coach Jabbar Juluke, and he is now with the Texas Longhorns.
With the Longhorns, the decision to transfer there could boil down to one thing: running backs coach. Baugh built a relationship with new Texas running backs coach Jabbar Juluke, who recruited Baugh at Florida. That bond could be the deciding factor in where he ends up playing next season.
With a contingent of the top three coaches on the staff, this shows exactly how serious the Gators are at keeping him in the program. If Baugh hits it off with Foster, who has a great track record, the Gators will be a much better team in 2026.
