The Florida Gators lost even more talent via the transfer portal on Friday. Per Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Gators corner Jalen Kimber has left the program.

CB Jalen Kimber: Leaving for Third School

Kimber, a four-star recruit and the seventh-ranked cornerback in the class of 2020 per 247Sports will leave the Florida Gators football program after two seasons. Kimber came to Gainesville in 2022, playing 13 games during his inaugural season with the Gators. The six-foot, 170-pound defensive back had 13 tackles, one interception, a touchdown, and a pass defended in 13 games. His lone interception was a pick-six off South Florida Bulls quarterback Gerry Bohanon.

Kimber posted 23 tackles, five passes defended, and one fumble recovery this season. He previously played for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2020 to 2021. However, he played sparingly, registering just three tackles in three games.

Florida Gators: Experiencing Heavy Turnover Via the Transfer Portal

Head coach Billy Napier and the Gators have struggled to retain talent with the conclusion of the regular season. Alongside Jalen Kimber, fellow defensive backs Miguel Mitchell and Jadarrius Perkins, edge rusher Princely Umanmielen , tight ends Andrew Savaiinaea and Jonathan Odom, offensive linemen Jalen Farmer, Kamari Wilson, and Jordan Herman, wide receivers Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman and Caleb Douglas, quarterback Max Brown, defensive linemen Keenan Landry, Chris McClellan and Will Norman, and running back Trevor Etienne, among others, have left Florida. The most significant losses are Etienne and Umanmielen. Etienne posted 1,710 scrimmage yards and 15 touchdowns across two seasons, while Umanmielen tallied 11.5 TFLs last season.
