Recruiting over the last couple of weeks have gone well for the Florida Gators. They have landed five recruits who have four-star rankings.
The defensive side of the football has taken the majority of the focus for the Gators, but head coach Billy Napier has been making it a focus to target a receiver who has received comparisons to Gators legend Percy Harvin.
The wide receiver position has been one that hte Gators have been focusing on this cycle. They already have two really talented recruits in four-star Marquez Daniel and hometown player four-star Justin Williams. They have different builds and skill sets, which is good for Billy Napier's offense.
The number one recruit that the Gators are going for right now at the position is four-star Davian Groce out of Frisco, Texas. At 6'1 and 190 lbs, Groce is the number six wide receiver, number seven recruit in the state of Texas, and 48th nationally in the 2026 class.
What separates him from the rest of the recruiting class is what he brings to the table from a versatility standpoint. The coaching staff believes he can deliver a Percy Harvin type impact to the offense, and this coaching staff would know. Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales was on Urban Meyer's staff when Harvin was on campus.
Throughout his recruitment, the Gators have been behind multiple schools who are close to Frisco, which is just north of Dallas, and that continued on Sunday. The Oklahoma Sooners received an expert prediction from Rivals' Sam Spiegleman to alnd the talented four-star receiver.

Now, the recruitment isn't over , but it's certainly not going the direction that the Gators had been hoping for with Oklahoma at 93.4%. He hasn't set a commitment date yet, which gives the Gators time to turn the tide.
