Recruiting for the Florida Gators remains an interesting proposition across the board.
Recently, the defensive line has seen a lot of ups and downs with the commitment of four-star Kendall Guervil and the decommitment of three-star Jamir Perez. Plus, four-star K.J. Ford's recruitment is giving multiple mixed signals.
Where things stand overall is good for the Gators, as they received another expert prediction to land a top prospect, this time it's four-star Heze Kent.

Kent is a very interesting player. Hailing from Brunswick, Georgia, Kent stands at 6'6 and over 300 lbs, but has been listed as both a tight end and offensive tackle due to his size. He is the 143rd overall recruit per On3 Sports and would likely start out at tight end for the Gators.
It would be huge to get him into the fold, and the ability to potentially develop into an offensive tackle gives the Gators more flexiblity down the line. They are also pursuing five-star tight end Kaiden Prothro hard, which could end up being a signal that Kent could focus on playing offensive tackle if he ends up committing.
Right now, the Gators have a 93.2% chance to land Kent per the On3 Sports Recruiting Prediction Machine to land Kent, and they won't have to wait long, as his commitment date is currently set to be Saturday, July 12th.
The 2026 class currently has 16 commitments with four big targets for the Gators set to make their decisions over the next few days.
