Florida Predicted to Land No. 1 OT From Georgia

The Florida Gators have the chance to take an in-state product from the Georgia Bulldogs via the 2026 class.

On Thursday, On3's Steve Wiltfong released a prediction for the Gators to receive a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Heze Kent. Kent will make his decision on July 12.

Florida has two commits from the state of Georgia, in four-star running back Carsyn Baker and three-star offensive tackle Tyler Chukuyem.

Kent also holds offers from the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Texas Longhorns, Alabama Crimson Tide, and several other schools.

He is a native of Brunswick, Georgia, and stands at 6-foot-6, weighing 320 pounds.

Kent is the No. 14 offensive tackle and top player at his position from Georgia in the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2026 class.

Florida is the clear frontrunner via the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Gators have a 93.2% chance of landing him, with Miami (2.1%) and Florida State (1%) far behind.

Landing Kent would make it three offensive tackles from the 2026 class for head coach Billy Napier and Florida. He would join three-star prospects Chancellor Campbell, Chukuyem and Javarii Luckas.

Florida's 2026 class is highlighted by four-star corner CJ Bronaugh, four-star defensive lineman Kendall Guervil and four-star receiver Marquez Daniel.

Things are trending in the right direction for Florida after going 8-5.

Joel Klatt believed the Gators have a chance to make their first College Football Playoff appearance in program history in 2025, now that the format accounts for 12 teams.

Florida received another prediction recently, favoring the team to get a commitment from four-star edge rusher Kevin Ford.

The Gators open the year with Long Island on August 30.
