Why Long Island University Will Win

Ethan Greenwood is one of the better quarterbacks in the FCS. He led the team with over 900 rushing yards, can throw a little bit, and he's exactly the right type of playmaker to get the Gator defense with what's coming next with USF's Byrum Brown.

To keep this from going from bad to brutal, LIU has to limit the mistakes. Florida got good at taking the ball away late last year, but if the Sharks can run just a little bit ....

Why Florida Will Win

It might not be like dealing with the Philadelphia Eagle ground attack, but the Florida defensive front has to establish itself from the start after an inconsistent season. Slow down the Shark running game, and bad things will happen.

The offense has to work on getting quarterback DJ Lagway comfortable. He was great, but the nine picks were too many. A few new receivers are coming in, so in a game without a whole lot of drama, the coaching staff has to let it rip.

Florida vs LIU Who Will Win

It's up to Florida what it wants the final score to be.

Billy Napier has reigned it in over the last few FCS games - beating Samford 45-7 last year and 49-7 against McNeese State in 2023 - and it'll be about the same in this. It'll be all systems go for a half, but the backups will grind out a few points late.
