Former Alabama running back, Damien Harris believes there is a chance Nick Saban makes his return to the sidelines to coach football again in the future if the right opportunity were to presents itself.
This theory comes after another former Crimson Tide player, Greg McElroy made headlines on Monday morning in Atlanta at day one of SEC media days when he started speculation that a potential return to the gridiron could be in play for Saban.
“A very much in the know person that I have a lot of respect for and have spent a lot of time around and just really, really admire, they seem to think Nick Saban is not done coaching,” McElroy said on WJOX radio. “He pretty adamant that he thinks Nick Saban will be coaching again.”
Harris chimed in afterward and gave his personal spin when asked about the chances of the seven-time national championship coach getting back into the game.
“I think if given the proper opportunity, I don’t think you could pay him not to take it to be honest with you,” Harris said via AL.com.
Harris then began to explain why he feels this potential outcome could be a reality for his former head coach.
“This is a guy who loves college football,” Harris said. “This is a guy who doesn’t just step away because he’s like, ‘ah you know what I served my time, I did what I was supposed to do. I just want to watch sunsets now.’ That’s not Nick Saban. He’s not built that way. He wasn’t that way when I played for him, I’m sure a lot of guys could attest to the same thing, obviously we still all know that he loves college football.”
