Former Alabama RB says Tide star wide receiver is disappearing

Former Alabama running back, Damien Harris had some criticism for Crimson Tide superstar wide receiver Ryan Williams after his lackluster performance against Florida State on Saturday.

Williams opened his sophomore campaign being limited to only five receptions for 30 yards against the Seminoles’ secondary in Tallahassee. He also left much to be desired with three uncharacteristic drops before exiting the game with a concussion in the third quarter. Many have pointed out the second-year receivers recent struggles to find the endzone, now posting four consecutive games without a touchdown. This drought is why Harris sparked further conversation by taking his concerns to social media.

“Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t,” Harris posted via X on Monday. “We haven’t seen the same Ryan Williams in quite some time. With things looking the way they do in Tuscaloosa, they only get worse when your star disappears.”

Williams is currently working through concussion protocol with the Tide’s medical staff throughout this week, with his status being labeled as ‘day-to-day.’ It’ll be interesting to see how the talented sophomore responds when officially cleared to return to action for Alabama football in 2025.
