Former Kentucky coach who loves to throw shade at the Tennessee Vols is now throwing shade at the Wildcats

Diehard Tennessee Vols football fans are likely familiar with former Kentucky Wildcats tight ends coach Vince Marrow.

Marrow had been an assistant coach with the Wildcats since 2013 before leaving Kentucky this month to become the executive director of player personnel and recruiting at Louisville.

During his time on Kentucky's coaching staff, Marrow would often throw shade at Tennessee.

In 2022, the Wildcats lost a recruiting battle to the Vols for four-star defensive back Christian Conyer.

Marrow, who was attending his daughter's wedding that day, took time to fire off a tweet about seeing the Vols in a few months after Kentucky missed on Conyer.

There was also the time Marrow referred to Tennessee as "that school" after the Vols were reportedly interested in a Kentucky football player who was flirting with the transfer portal.

Marrow also once suggested that Tennessee (during the Jeremy Pruitt era) recruits negatively against other programs.

Anyway, you get the point -- Marrow likes to throw some shade at Tennessee.

Which is why it's hilarious that he's throwing shade at Kentucky now that he's at Louisville.

Marrow appeared on The Deener Show this week to discuss his move to Louisville and he threw some jabs at Kentucky's offense.

“Sometimes I haven’t had much to sell (at Kentucky) in certain years, and still brought in four-stars," said Marrow. "But this (at Louisville) is easy. This is going to be real easy to sell, and I think I can do it with the best...I’m selling a top 10 coach, who’s the best offensive mind, one of the best offensive minds in college football."

Ouch. That's gotta be tough to hear if you're a Kentucky fan. Marrow seemed like a guy who was attached to the hip with head coach Mark Stoops in Lexington. And now he's trashing the offense that he helped lead for nearly a dozen years.

Though it's not like Marrow is wrong -- the Wildcats' offense has been putrid at times under Stoops. It's the biggest reason that Kentucky has failed to break through despite usually having one of the better defenses in the SEC.

Kentucky and Louisville will meet on November 29 in the final week of the regular season.
