Former LSU Commit Predicted to Land with Heated SEC Rival

When it comes to the 2026 recruiting class, the LSU Tigers, led by head coach Brian Kelly, have been extremely impressive, already having brought in a total of nine commitments, ranking No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the nation, according to On3.

However, they've undoubtedly faced some bumps in the road, including the situation surrounding defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy, who committed to LSU on Jan. 2 but quickly withdrew his commitment on Feb. 3.

The Tigers remain in his top three, though, joining the Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns before McCoy makes his official decision on July 1.

Unfortunately for LSU, though, On3's Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction on Wednesday, and he has McCoy landing with Florida to play under head coach Billy Napier.

For Florida, this is amazing news, as On3 Industry Rankings has McCoy as a four-star recruit, the No. 17 defensive lineman, the No. 8 player in Mississippi and the No. 163 player in the nation.

In his three seasons at the varsity level for Tupelo High School, McCoy has been very impressive, accumulating 120 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks and three fumble recoveries in 35 appearances.

Of course, it also gives the Gators a chance to secure a nice win over LSU, which is something they've struggled to do on the field, going just 3-7 in their last 10 matchups against the Tigers.

McCoy would also be a huge boost to Florida's 2026 recruiting class, which hasn't had too many big additions as of yet with just four commitments ranking No. 13 in the SEC and No. 43 in the nation.
