A certain Mid-American Conference school seems to be a popular place for former Mizzou quarterbacks.

Former Mizzou starter Connor Bazelak (2019-'21) played the last two seasons with the Bowling Green Falcons. Now, another former Tigers' signal caller is taking his talents there.

Following Bazelak's graduation, Drew Pyne is transferring to Bowling Green, per a report Monday morning from ESPN's Pete Thamel. Pyne is 9-3 overall as a starter and has two remaining years of eligibility.

During his season with the Tigers, Pyne appeared in six SEC games, including going 1-0 with an epic comeback victory in his lone start against Oklahoma Nov. 9. The New Canaan, Conn. native threw for 391 yards and three touchdowns and completed 61.2-percent of his passes in the 2024 season.

Pyne departs Missouri in the midst of a quarterback competition within the Tigers' ranks. Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz opened the starting quarterback battle with Pyne, Sam Horn and Penn State transfer Beau Pribula, but with Pyne's departure, the bid for QB 1 is likely down to Horn and Pribula.

Before joining Mizzou, Pyne launched his collegiate career at Notre Dame (2020-'22) before spending a year at Arizona State (2023).

With the Fighting Irish, Pyne recorded his best season in 2022 when he racked up 2,021 passing yards and 22 touchdowns on 64.6-percent passing, and went 8-2 as a  starter. Pyne transferred to Arizona State following that season but would never reassert himself as a starter.

Pyne played high school football at New Canaan High School where he was a four-star prospect and the No. 238 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
