Gojo & Golic host Mike Golic is sad to see Al Golden leave Notre Dame. The new Bengals defensive coordinator led the Fighting Irish defense over the past three seasons, a team Golic played on as an offensive lineman from 2008-12.

"Hate to see him go, but appreciate everything he did for ND," Golic posted on X. "That defense was aggressive as hell and always prepared. Sort of like Aaron Glenn with the Lions, guys kept getting hurt and they never once lowered their standard."

Golden is expected to develop Cincinnati's young defenders at a higher level than in years past. Just like he did at Notre Dame, culminating in his defense leading a run to the National Championship game on Monday night.

He did a nice job of it already in Cincinnati as the Bengals' linebackers coach in 2020 and 2021.
