It has almost become unreal to watch the issues that the Georgia football program has had with moving violations. That continued this week when current Bulldogs sophomore wide receiver NiTareon Tuggle was arrested on speeding and reckless driving. Tuggle may be taking his “Nitro” nickname a little bit too seriously.
On a very serious note, the continued issue around moving violations, including reckless driving, has become an embarrassing issue under head coach Kirby Smart. While that program has a proud tradition of winning and developing NFL players, the overall culture has to continue to be questioned.
Tuggle was originally a member of the 2024 recruiting class for the Bulldogs. He played in eight games for the team this past season. In those eight contests, Tuggle managed to haul in three receptions for 34 yards.
Despite Tuggle being from the state of Indiana, Notre Dame never really pushed hard for him due to some academic reasons. That interest did pick up late, but at that point, other schools had separated them. In the end, Georgia won out.
The 6-1, 190-pound pass catcher garnered a ton of interest from a long list of impressive suitors coming out. Outside of Georgia and Notre Dame, Tuggle also held offers from Oregon, Michigan, Miami, LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Penn State, Auburn, Michigan State, Colorado, Indiana, Washington, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, and Purdue among others.
Tuggle was considered a four-star recruit by every major recruiting service coming out of Northwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana. He finished as the No. 102 overall player, No. 20 wide receiver, and No. 2 player in the state of Indiana. Rivals ranked him as the No. 92 player in the class.
