Notre Dame football has four players who earned spots in the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl. All-American safety Xavier Watts unfortunately opted out due to the long season, but quarterback Riley Leonard, defensive end RJ Oben, and linebacker Jack Kiser made the trip down to Mobile to test their skills against over 100 of the most talented 2025 NFL Draft prospects.
Each player has been getting nice reviews so far for the weeks they are having. That includes Kiser and Oben, who each have made splash plays the first couple of days. Funny enough, one of their best plays of the week happened on the same play.
There was one particular play during the Wednesday practice that should have Irish fans really, really excited. On this play, former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe threw an interception to Kiser, who did a great job dropping back into the mid hole in zone coverage. You also saw a really good rush from Oben, who defeated multiple blockers to get some pressure on Milroe.
Jalen Milroe somehow sacked AND threw an INT on the same play as Jack Kiser picked him off at #SeniorBowl practice! @AtoZSportsNFL pic.twitter.com/FqrgyKOkDB

Oben started his career with Duke, where he was an outstanding pass rusher for the Blue Devils. During his tenure, Oben recorded 21 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks. A lot was expected from him when he made the decision to transfer to Notre Dame.
Unfortunately, Oben did not have the impact with the Irish that many hoped for. During the 2024 season, he recorded 19 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack. That sack did come in one of the biggest moments of the season, but he was largely ineffective for the most part. That’s why the draft process is so important for him.
For Kiser, he saved his best season for last as a super senior. That included 90 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and two sacks after transitioning to WILL linebacker. We have already heard some great feedback from NFL evaluators, and it now seems like he might be a definite to get drafted in April.
