Bill Belichick might have just confirmed one of the biggest questions surrounding his and Jordon Hudson's relationship.
In a recent report by The New York Times, it was detailed that Hudson has “told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.”
And in photos obtained by TMZ, Belichick just signaled that it might actually be true. His boat, which was previously called "VIII Rings," in honor of his eight Super Bowl victories, is now called "I+VIII Rings."
So what is that one extra ring now?
The immediate guess is that it stands for an engagement ring he might have given to Hudson.
The couple have been all over the news lately, which began due to a controversial CBS Sunday Morning Interview. CBS's Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick how he and Hudson met during the interview. Hudson then walked straight into the interview and put an end to that line of questioning.
“We’re not talking about this,” she said.
There have been multiple reports since this, all with different claims regarding Hudson's involvement in Belichick's professional and personal affairs.
However, he gave a simple answer about this when asked by ESPN on May 13.
“That’s really off to the side. It's a personal relationship,” Belichick said. “She doesn't have anything to do with UNC football."
However, the New York Times also shined a light on what happened between the University of North Carolina and NFL Films after it was reported that Belichick's first offseason as a college coach would be documented on Hard Knocks.
"But days before they were set to announce the series, Ms. Hudson demanded she be granted content approval and partial ownership of the show, according to a person familiar with the deal who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by producers to speak to a reporter," the outlet wrote.
As a result, NFL Films decided to cancel the project.
So, it's not just a personal relationship?
This saga surrounding the 73-year-old coach and his 24-year-old girlfriend keeps getting wilder.
