Former Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel to have role for Saturday's big game against Notre Dame

Texas A&M was a magical place for college football in 2012 and 2013 when quarterback Johnny Manziel ran around College Station.

Manziel helped put Texas A&M on the map and welcomed the Aggies to the SEC when they went on the road in 2012 and beat Alabama.

Texas A&M was the place to be every Saturday in the fall, and Manziel went on to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012. In 2014, he was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

Manziel’s NFL career lasted only two years, and after the Browns released him in March 2016, no other team sought to sign him.

Now, Manziel is enjoying his time playing golf, but this weekend, He will have to step away from the course because he will be involved in the first Texas A&M game of the season.

Texas A&M Brings Back Johnny Manziel

Saturday night, Texas A&M will be at the center of the college football world when they host Notre Dame, and about ten hours before kickoff, College Station will be rocking with ESPN’s College Game Day.

On Thursday, it was announced that Manziel would be the guest picker on College Game Day, which excited many fans.

In a video on social media, Manziel said he gets to check off a bucket list item being a guest picker on College GameDay, and it will be an epic moment for the former Aggie star.

Texas A&M is heading into a new era this weekend with new head coach Mike Elko, and why not have Manziel come in and kick off the new era in an epic way?

It will be interesting to see how the Aggies do this weekend against the number seven team in the country and how they will do the rest of the season in a difficult SEC.
