There's a major lack of interest in UCLA football at the moment. To be fair, there seems to be a lack of interest in anything in Los Angeles. The allure of Hollywood life and/or beaches will do that to a football team, just ask the Los Angeles Rams of the NFL.
Still, it's striking to see just how few people are showing up at the iconic Rose Bowl to watch UCLA play right now.
It's literally next to nobody. If you had a wide shot, you could probably eyeball the number of fans.
That's not a good look, and former UCLA quarterback turned famous Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned famous announcer Troy Aikman wasn't afraid to call it out on Twitter.
This is an embarrassment but we couldn’t fill the Rose Bowl in 1988 when we were the #1 team in the country. Anyone else at UCLA think it’s time for an on-campus 30,000 seat stadium? Of course, if we can’t play better than we did today, it would be half-empty too. pic.twitter.com/jteVU8XV76

It would make sense for UCLA to put together a smaller stadium in order to actually fill some seats out.
Keep in mind, that the Rose Bowl fits 90,888 people at capacity. UCLA would have been lucky to have just 888 at its near-loss to South Alabama.
The Big Ten has to be very excited to welcome UCLA into the fray.
