Former Utah DB Jocelyn Malaska To Transfer to Oklahoma
USA TODAY Sports

Another former Utah player has found a home elsewhere as this time it was former three-star defensive back Jocelyn Malaska.

The Bethany, Oklahoma native revealed on Tuesday that he was transferring to Oklahoma following an offer as a preferred walk-on. It is unclear if he had other Power 5 offers, but clearly felt it was the best option for him.

During his time in Salt Lake City, he saw action in eight games across the past two seasons as a reserve. He didn't register a stat, and saw most of his action as a member of special teams.

In a statement reported by On3, Malaska revealed that he feels that Oklahoma gives him the best chance at developing.

“I love the culture and what they are building,” Malaska said. “They are going to put me in the best position to be successful and develop.

As a recruit, Malaska chose Utah over programs such as Texas Tech, Hawaii, Kansas, SMU, and Tulsa.
