As the college football season sits just under two months away, PFF College released its 50 best players ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Four Big 12 players made the list, including Utah tackle Spencer Fano, Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, Arizona State wide receiver Jordan Tyson, and Kansas State linebacker Austin Romaine.

Fano ranked at No. 4, while Leavitt and Tyson went back-to-back at No. 17 and No. 18, and Romaine sat at No. 45.

Fano, who was named to the 2024 All-Big 12 First Team, has demonstrated his versatility in 25 career starts. He has spent 11 outings at left tackle and 13 at right tackle.

After his strong sophomore campaign, he earned a spot on the 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-America First Team. Fano looks to help the Utes bounce back after a disappointing 13th-place finish in the Big 12 at 5-7 last season.

Arizona State’s dominant run to the College Football Playoff shocked the college football world, considering it was the program’s first season competing in the Big 12 since moving from the Pac-12.

After going 3-9 in 2023 and 2024, ASU finished with its most wins in a season since 1996. Leavitt and Tyson’s offensive chemistry played a significant role in the Sun Devils’ historic season.

Leavitt threw 24 touchdowns, compared to just six interceptions. He totaled 2,885 passing yards and was also a threat through the ground game, rushing for 443 yards and five touchdowns.

Former star running back Cam Skattebo’s entrance to the NFL should open up the passing game for Leavitt. With Tyson returning as one of the most consistent receivers in the nation, totaling 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns, the ASU offense may pick up right where it left off.

Romaine rounded out the Big 12 stars who made the cut, as he plays a vital role in Kansas State’s defense.

In 2024, the 6-foot-2 linebacker recorded 54 solo tackles, two sacks, and three forced fumbles. He also assisted with 42 tackles and played an instrumental role in the Wildcats’ 9-4 finish.

He tallied five or more tackles in 11 games and earned All-Big 12 second team honors.
