Florida State has unveiled the full contract details for head coach Mike Norvell's massive extension with the program. Norvell signed the deal last month after being pursued by Alabama as Nick Saban's successor. He ultimately chose to continue his tenure in Tallahassee and was rewarded after the Seminoles made him one of the highest-paid coaches in the country.

Norvell's contract will jump from $5.5 million in 2023 to $9.875 million this season. He will receive a small raise each year until his salary rises to $10.835 million during the final year of his contract, which runs through December 31, 2031. The agreement was signed by Norvell, Athletics Director Michael Alford, and Associate General Counsel Gavin Burgess on February 16.

A breakdown of Norvell's base contract salary for the next eight years can be viewed below.

Norvell will have his business-related travel expenses paid for and he'll be provided with 30 hours to utilize private aircraft for personal use. His wife and children will be allowed to travel on the team plane to all regular and postseason away contests.

The head coach will owe Florida State a monetary amount if he chooses to terminate the agreement before the conclusion of the contract. That would equate to $6 million in 2024, $4 million in 2025, $3 million in 2026, $2 million in 2027 and 2028, $1 million in 2029, and $0 in 2030 and 2031.

The Seminoles are 31-17 under Norvell after an undefeated regular season and ACC Championship victory this past season. He was named the ACC Coach of the Year, Bear Bryant Coach of the Year, AFCA Regional Coach of the Year, and Dodd Trophy Coach of the Year.

Florida State has achieved a 23-4 record over the past two seasons while defeating programs such as LSU, Clemson, Miami, Florida, Oklahoma, Duke, and Louisville. The Seminoles will be looking to make another push in 2024 behind a roster that is loaded with newcomers through the transfer portal and high school recruiting class.
