Georgia Bulldogs' Carson Beck gets real about why he doesn't 'enjoy' watching football

The Georgia Bulldogs had off this past Saturday after beating Georgia Tech in a thrilling eight-overtime showdown.

That meant players had an entire day to do with whatever they wanted.

For Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, that time was not filled watching the other rivalries kick-off, which means he did not watch the Texas vs. Texas A&M night game to find out who the Bulldogs would face in the SEC Championship.

"I don't watch football, so, um...I know that sounds kinda crazy," Beck said. "But no, I don't really enjoy watching football. It's not fun for me. I watch film. So, like I'll explain for a second what I mean by that. So if I watch that for a second I'm not just going to be able to sit there and enjoy it. I'm gonna stress myself out. The whole entire time I'm watching the defense I'm like, 'Okay, why this coverage on this down?' I'm like, 'Well, why did he throw it there against this coverage?' You know? I mean you can learn from watching it but no it's stressful for me because I don't ever give myself a break whenever it comes to football."

Beck, obviously, went back and broke down the film the following day with his coaches and teammates.

"But nah, I mean I watched the film back obviously now afterwards knowing we're going to be playing Texas in the SEC Championship," Beck said. "Their defense is really good. They have a lot of talent on defense and their defensive coordinator does a good job of putting them in good positions to execute and play at a high level. I'm just excited for the opportunity to play them again."

Beck's answer shouldn't be too shocking considering there are many other players and coaches, including head coach Kirby Smart, who do more than spend their free time watching football.
