Georgia Bulldogs football fans received the worst case update on one particular injury this week.
Bulldogs cornerback Ondre Evans didn't play in the program's spring game last Saturday. Evans, though, was at the game walking with crutches on the sideline.
Dawg Nation's Connor Riley reported Evans shared on his Instagram story Wednesday that he underwent ACL surgery.
While Evans wasn't expected to compete for a significant role with the Bulldogs defense this season, the injury rules out any possibility of that happening.
If there is any good news, Evans stated to his followers on Instagram that the surgery went well. The cornerback also still has four years of eligibility left.
The redshirt freshman has yet to play for the Bulldogs.
"Evans signed with Georgia as a 4-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Nashville, Tenn., native did not appear in any games last fall for Georgia," wrote Riley.

Senior starting cornerback Daylen Everette will return for the Bulldogs secondary this upcoming season. Riley argued Daniel Harris, Ellis Robinson and Demello Jones will compete for the other starting cornerback role.
Harris intercepted a pass in the end zone during Georgia's spring game.
The spring transfer portal is now open if the Bulldogs see cornerback as a growing need after Evans' injury. But again, the redshirt freshman's 2025 impact was already expected to be minimal.
Pundits have predicted Georgia to target edge rushers and running backs in the transfer portal.
