Georgia suspends star player for Saturday's game against Clemson
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The country’s number one team, the Georgia Bulldogs, will have no easy test on Saturday when they play #14 Clemson in Atlanta. The Bulldogs will have to do it without one of their star players.

This winter, Florida’s running back Trevor Etienne transferred to Bulldogs after rushing for 1,472 yards and 14 scores in his two seasons in Gainesville.

Etienne’s time in Athens didn’t get off to a great start because he was charged with multiple misdemeanors, including a DUI, this summer, but all charges against him were dropped in July.

Georgia’s program has had a handful of players arrested for driving incidents in the past two years, and on Saturday, they made sure they aren’t going to let things slide again.

Georgia Supsends Etienne Against Clemson

According to Matt Zenitz from 247sports.com, Georgia suspended Etienne against Clemson due to his off-season arrest.

Georgia is already dealing with running back depth issues with Etienne’s backup, Roderick Robinson, who had surgery on his foot earlier this week that will keep him out a handful of games.

Third-sting running back Branson Robinson is expected to start on Saturday. He is coming off a 2023 season in which he appeared in zero games due to a knee injury suffered in fall camp.

The Bulldogs‘ running back situation is going to be shaky on Saturday afternoon, but luckily, they have one of the best quarterbacks in college football, Carson Beck, to settle things down. Beck should keep the passing game at an elite level so the running backs won’t have be to relied on too much.
