Georgia Tech safety Nehemiah Chandler announced he'll be going elsewhere for the 2025 season. He took to social media to thank coach Brett Key and his staff, along with his teammates.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound three-star from Wakulla High School (Crawfordville, FL) spent one redshirt season with the Jackets and saw action in one game. He chose Georgia Tech over Maryland, South Florida, UCF, and others.
Chandler is a versatile two-way athlete who has good skills in the secondary or at receiver. He received First-team all-district honors during his senior year. Due to a crowded DB room, his talents might have taken a back seat to others.
As it stands right now, Georgia Tech has seven defensive backs in the rotation. Chandler is the second GT player to enter the portal during this cycle, following former four-star running back Anthony Carrie.
Nonetheless, Chandler will explore his options and find the next best fit in his career. He'll have four years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
