As spring turns the corner in Atlanta, Georgia Tech football fans have one more reason to celebrate: the annual White and Gold Game is back this Saturday at 1 p.m. inside Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field — and admission is completely free.
This year’s game caps a spring full of energy, development, and growing expectations for the Yellow Jackets under head coach Brent Key, as the program continues building momentum heading into the 2025 season.
After leading Tech to a bowl game and passing for 2,114 yards and 14 touchdowns, while also rushing for 587 yards and 11 more touchdowns last season, redshirt senior quarterback Haynes King returns with even higher expectations. Saturday gives fans a first-hand look at how King has grown under OC Buster Faulkner, especially with a deeper receiver corps and new wrinkles on offense. Backup QB Aaron Philo — an early enrollee and former Georgia high school standout — also offers intrigue as one of Tech’s top young prospects.
While Kyle Efford and Ahmari Harvey anchor a defense that lost some key veterans, the White and Gold Game provides a stage for emerging names like DB Rodney Shelley and DL Jordan van den Berg. Expect new DC Blake Gideon’s group to flash a faster, more aggressive look — with plenty of positional battles still in play.
From free parking to autograph sessions with 11 top players after the game — including Jamal Haynes, Malik Rutherford, and King — Tech is leaning into fan connection. The Techwood Market will bring food, drinks, and live radio along Techwood Drive, while fans can snap a photo with the Aer Lingus College Football Classic trophy. Seating is general admission on the east side, with gates opening at noon.
