LSU’s Gio Paez spoke to the media this week about preparing to play Vanderbilt and the difference between Big Ten and SEC crowds.

Would you say there's a big difference in atmosphere with the SEC compared to the Big 10?

Gio: Yeah, I definitely I think so. Driving into the towns of the games you're going to be playing in, that's probably the biggest thing that you notice. Because when you're on the field, you're in the game and you're locked into the game but the amount of people that are flipping you off or whatever, it just means more in the SEC.

With Vanderbilt coming into town, what kind of challenges do they pose for you guys?

Gio: We’re trying to execute our game plan in terms of what coach baker has planned for us and just do it to the best of our ability. [Vanderbilt is a] great opportunity to finish the season at home with two victories.

So far this year, Vanderbilt's been a team that likes to run the ball and likes to control the clock…What have you learned from that Florida game that you can carry over into Vanderbilt?

Gio: I think we knew going into Florida week that they're going to try to run the ball and try to establish that run game. I feel like we answered that call well. They had one breakout run I think that put them over a 100 yards later in the third or fourth quarter but up until that point, we had like 50 yards rushing. That’s obviously going to be another thing this week that we're going to have to really just dig our boots in the ground and chop away at that. I don't think it's anything much more than that. I just think we need to stay focused on that.
