Houston's Chidozie Nwankwo transfers to Colorado

Deion Sanders and Colorado got a great addition to the defensive line with Chidozie Nwankwo making it official on Monday afternoon. 

The former Houston big man announced he was transferring to CU and became the latest player to join from the huge visitor weekend in Boulder. Nwankwo will be an outstanding fit in the heart of Charles Kelly's defense and will be ready in 2024. 

At 5-foot-11 and 300 pounds, Nwankwo has put in consistent work as a four-year starter for the Cougars. He racked up 94 total tackles (7 for loss) with four sacks since 2020.

Nwankwo was an original three-star recruit from Forest (Texas) and a top 100 prospect in the Lone Star state. The Touchdown Club of Houston Defensive Player of the Year Finalist. He chose Houston over Arkansas, LSU, and others. 

What makes Nwankwo's background unique is that he's a Four-time district champion and three-time regional champion wrestler. He carried a 102-5 record on the mat before he committed to Houston. 

Nwankwo enters his final year of eligibility at Colorado.
