How Alabama LB knew Deontae Lawson interception was coming
Gary Cosby Jr.-Tuscaloosa News / USA TODAY NETWORK

Deontae Lawson picked off LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier for his first career interception on Saturday night.

Lawson leaped into the air to secure the interception. His teammate and Alabama linebacker, Jihaad Campbell knew it was coming when he saw the LSU wide receivers’ routes developing.

“He picked that ball off in practice, like a few times,” Campbell said. “So I knew once that route was happening, I knew that he was going to pick the ball off. But honestly, when I turned around, I really couldn’t believe he picked the ball. I’m really extremely proud of my brother, and I just love playing with him.”

The Mobile, Alabama native finished the game with seven total tackles, one tackle for loss and the interception.
