How Fast Is Jalen Milroe? Alabama QB 40-Yard Dash Time Revealed

Jalen Milroe finally gave NFL scouts the speed showcase they had been waiting for.

After opting not to run the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, the former Alabama quarterback put his elite athleticism on full display at Alabama’s Pro Day on Wednesday, posting an eye-popping time of 4.50 on his first attempt, according to SEC Network broadcast. Hand timers ranged from anywhere between 4.48 and 4.52.

His second attempt went even better —running a 4.47.

Milroe’s decision to skip the drill at the Combine only added to the anticipation, and he did not disappoint.

His explosive speed was a key part of his success during the 2024 season under first-year Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer. Milroe thrived in DeBoer’s system, taking his game to new heights by accounting for 36 total touchdowns—16 passing and 20 rushing—while amassing 3,570 yards of total offense.

While his athleticism has never been in question, Milroe’s evolution as a passer was the most impressive aspect of his final collegiate campaign.

Long viewed as a dynamic dual-threat quarterback, he showcased significant improvement in his accuracy, decision-making, and pocket presence, making him a more complete NFL prospect.

Still, it’s his legs that set him apart.

Milroe’s 20 rushing touchdowns ranked second nationally among quarterbacks, and his ability to extend plays and create explosive runs is a major selling point for NFL teams looking for a playmaker at the next level.

His blazing 40-yard dash at Alabama’s Pro Day only reinforced what scouts already knew—Milroe is an elite athlete.

Now, the question is how high his stock will rise ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, where he's anticipated to be a fringe Day 1 selection.
