There is power in words that are spoken, and Ty Simpson is the latest example of this.
Simpson was officially named the starting quarterback for Alabama football on Monday. This is a moment Simpson has waited three years for, which is something he knew he would probably have to do when he signed with the Crimson Tide.
The former five-star signed with Alabama as a member of its 2022 recruiting class with a pending uphill battle to get on the field ahead of him. Heisman-winning quarterback, Bryce Young was returning to Alabama after earning the award a year earlier and so was a freaky-athletic quarterback and one of the fastest players on Alabama’s team, Jalen Milroe. This prompted Simpson to lock in on the approach he will have to wait for his opportunity.
Simpson did so as a senior at Westview High School.
“Whether I start my freshman year or my fifth-year senior year, I do not really care,” Simpson told Touchdown Alabama during his senior season of high school football. “It is just the fact I get to go down there and learn from the best coach of all time. Be like how Mac was I guess you can say, learn from Tua and Jalen. It is just Bryce, Paul (Tyson) and Jalen for me.”
