'I love the direction they're headed,' Elite prospect raves about Oregon Ducks despite recently committing to former Pac-12 rival

The Oregon Ducks are intensifying their efforts to secure their first offensive lineman for the 2026 recruiting class, following a series of setbacks. Oregon remains in the race for four-star interior offensive lineman Tommy Tofi.

Ranked as the No. 6 interior offensive lineman and No. 97 overall player by 247Sports, Tofi committed to the Cal Bears in early June.

However, he recently told Rivals that Oregon is still a contender as he considers finalizing his recruitment before his senior season begins.

“I love the direction they’re headed,” Tofi said. “Winning program. Three-straight 10-win seasons and I love what Coach (Alique) Terry and the rest of the o-line coaching staff have for me if I get there to Eugene.”

The Ducks recently lost five-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene, who switched his commitment to the Washington Huskies, leaving a gap in their offensive line prospects.

Head coach Dan Lanning is prioritizing the offensive line to support newly committed four-star quarterback Bryson Beaver. The Ducks have faced challenges, with not only Greene’s flip but also four-star offensive tackle Bott Mulitalo de-committing and joining BYU, and five-star Jackson Cantwell choosing Miami.

A potential game-changer for Oregon is five-star interior offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho, ranked No. 2 at his position and No. 22 overall by 247Sports.

Landing Iheanacho could significantly elevate Oregon’s recruiting class, which currently sits at No. 29 nationally, bolstered by recent commitments from Beaver and five-star safety Jett Washington.

With the Early Signing Period approaching, Lanning’s recruiting prowess suggests Oregon could still make waves. Securing Tofi or Iheanacho could propel the Ducks’ 2026 class into the top 25, addressing critical needs and building momentum for the program.

Greg Biggins of 247Sports wrote this about Tofi.

Massive two-way lineman who offers a ton of positional versatility. Enormous frame and could easily play nose guard at the college level but is being recruited solely on the offensive line. Played predominately left tackle as a junior and shows surprising quickness and agility for a 340-pound lineman. Owns tackle length, huge hands, and a jarring punch. Shows above average balance and lateral mobility as a pass protector. Smashmouth run blocker. Manhandles opposing defensive ends and tackles at the point of attack and plays with the kind of mean streak and nastiness. Boasts a rare combination of size, fluidity, and the ability to finish. Still growing as a player and trending up, having leaned out his body and gained athleticism over the past couple of years. Possesses as much upside as any offensive lineman out west with the potential to become an NFL Draft pick.
