Indiana Lands North Carolina Running Back Transfer Elijah Green
Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Former North Carolina running back Elijah Green announced his decision to transfer to Indiana on Thursday night.

At 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Green joins the Hoosiers with four years of experience as a Tar Heel. The bulk of his production came during 14 games in the 2022 season, when he totaled 131 rushes for 558 yards, 4.3 yards per carry and eight touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Aside from his 2022 campaign, Green ran the ball just 25 times in 13 games during his four-year North Carolina career. He originally committed to North Carolina out of Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Ga.

Green is the fourth running back to commit to Indiana out of the transfer portal, joining Justice Ellison, Kaelon Black and Ty Son Lawton . Indiana's leading rusher in 2023, Trent Howland, is also returning to Bloomington after previously entering the portal.

Indiana running back Josh Henderson is back for his senior season, as well. John Miller was hired to coach Indiana running backs in 2024 after holding the same position at James Madison.
