Neyland Stadium has transformed from General Neyland's Bed and Breakfast (thousands of satisfied visitors every year) back into a house of horrors under Josh Heupel over the last four years.
Opponents of the Tennessee Vols have talked about how tough it's been to play there, particularly former and current Alabama players. Even the Crimson Tide's radio play-by-play announcer Chris Stewart made an ill-advised comment about the university pumping crowd noise into the speakers.
In other words, Neyland is a madhouse again. And that's apparently something that Cincinnati Bearcats QB Brendan Sorsby would like to experience as a visiting player.
ESPN college football commentator Greg McElroy sat down with Sorsby, Kansas State QB Avery Johnson, and Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt and asked them their dream opponents. Sorsby gave his nod to the Vols.
"I'd say Tennessee," Sorsby said. "I got to go to a couple of games growing up. Really cool atmosphere. It would be a fun place to play for sure. Big stadium, usually sold out."
Johnson also mentioned Tennessee as a place he'd like to play, as well as at Alabama and other SEC schools.
Fortunately for Tennessee fans, Heupel has managed to get the Vols to play on another level against every team at home not named Georgia over the last four years. Tennessee is 25-2 at home against everyone else, with losses to Pitt and Ole Miss in 2021. Georgia beat the Vols in Knoxville in 2021 and 2023.
But there's no doubt that Tennessee fans have turned the facility into one of the most electric environments in the sport. Something that's probably pretty cool to see from the field as a visiting player - even if the result isn't going your way.
