There's no doubt that last season, as a true freshman, Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith established himself as one of the best players in college football.

That's, of course, led to some very exciting honors, including standing alongside Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams as the two cover athletes for the standard edition of EA Sports College Football 26.

The game is not set to release until July 10, but many have gotten an early look. On Tuesday, a social user posted a photo of Smith in-game, which showcases him as a 99 overall.

That caught the attention of many, including the wide receiver, who reposted the photo on X and added a praying emoji in the caption.

There's no doubt that being rated that high is an impressive feat, and many of his numbers from last season back up EA's decision, as he hauled in 76 receptions, 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns in just 16 games.

That led Smith to being named USA TODAY First-Team All-American, the Big Ten Conference Richter-Howard Wide Receiver of the Year and the Big Ten Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year.

In just one year, he's already lived up to the high expectations he faced entering college, as On3 Industry Rankings placed him as a five-star recruit and the No. 1 player in the nation for the 2024 recruiting class.

Now, he enters 2025 as a serious Heisman Trophy contender, with ESPN BET tying him for the second-best odds (+900) to take it home, while Texas quarterback Arch Manning has the best (+600).

If Smith does end up winning it, though, he would be just the fifth wide receiver to do so in college football history, with the Colorado Buffaloes' Travis Hunter last doing so in 2024.
