Florida Gators punter Jeremy Crawshaw impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday, showcasing his powerful leg with a punt that reached a ball speed of 68 mph and reached 60 yards down the field.
Crawshaw’s journey from a small town in Australia to the brink of an NFL career is a testament to his perseverance and talent. As he prepares for this next step, his Head Coach has been confident he will continue to excel.
“He’s one of my favorites of all time,” Florida head coach Billy Napier told Swamp247 back in November. “He’s the best punter in the country, and he’ll be a top draft pick and a great pro.”
Crawshaw, a four-year starter at Florida, has steadily built a reputation for his strong leg and precision. At the combine, he demonstrated his quick delivery, making him a consistent punter in college football. His ability to generate power was on full display, though questions remain about his hang time, which is important when analyzing punters.

NFL scouts note that Crawshaw’s below-average hang time by NFL standards could lead to more returns than teams prefer. His directional punting also remains a work in progress.
Over his collegiate career, Crawshaw improved significantly, eliminating rugby-style punts after 2022 and refining his technique. In 2023, he set a school record with an average of 48.9 yards per punt, a mark that would have ranked second in the FBS if he had enough attempts to qualify. Lastly, his placement on pooch kicks has also been praised, often pinning opponents inside their 10-yard line.
Crawshaw, who trained at ProKick Australia before coming to the U.S., has the tools to compete at the next level. If he can refine his hang time and consistency, he could become a valuable asset for an NFL team in need of a reliable punter.
