One of Indiana’s top high school football prospects is headed to Alabama. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive end from Warren Central announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Sunday via social media. Finch has now revealed why he chose Alabama over Miami, Michigan, Purdue, and Tennessee.

The new Crimson Tide DL joined “The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral” with Mason Woods to talk about his recent move to Tuscaloosa.
“Really, it’s the laidback vibe just like me,” Finch revealed what made him choose the Crimson Tide coaching staff. “Keeping it straight. Always telling the truth. No fakeness, no, nothing!”
“I can just already see that, because I’m really big on relationships going into playing and doing things about my future, so I could just see through stuff, a lot of stuff that people were telling me. They always keep it straight with me, and try to lead me to the right path.”
Finch visited Alabama officially in late May, capping a tour that included stops at each of his remaining finalists.
“I’m looking for a family atmosphere and an opportunity where I can showcase myself,” Finch said last month. “Sometimes freshmen aren’t able to showcase their talent. It’s all about relationships and getting my feet wet. I feel like I can play anywhere on the line and help them win games.”
The son of Warren Central legend Jerimy Finch Sr., Finch has made his own mark on the Warriors’ defense. He recorded a team-best 92 tackles as a junior, including 24 for loss and seven sacks.
