Jimbo Fisher's no good, very bad 2022 impacting recruiting

Jimbo Fisher's no good, very bad 2022 is already impacting Texas A&M's recruiting

Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher loses even on his off days.

Five-star linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. announced his decision to back off his initial commitment to Texas A&M on Monday.

"I will be decommitting from Texas A&M and opening up my recruitment," he said in a statement.

It's a major blow off the field for the Aggies after a season to forget in College Station.

Texas A&M (3-6) has as many losses as its preseason AP poll rank.

Per 247sports, the team landed the No. 1 recruiting class of 2022 (much to the chagrin of Alabama head coach Nick Saban), but the Aggies have struggled most of the season. They even lost at home to Appalachian State (5-4).

There are concerns over Fisher's long-term outlook as Aggies head coach despite an $86 million buyout. That uncertainty — paired with the team's lackluster 2022 performance — will be something to keep an eye on until national signing day on Feb. 1, 2023.

Per 247 Sports, Texas A&M has five players who have decommitted. Hill is the first to decommit during the season — the other four decommitted between March 18 and Aug. 8. The team had five decommits combined between 2021 and 2022.

Texas A&M is looking a lot like the Titanic. It might not be long before more jump ship.
