The Colorado Buffaloes' summer workout program has seemingly leveled up a notch under new strength and conditioning coach Andreu Swasey.
Based on recent Well Off Media YouTube videos documenting the workouts, Swasey is pushing players to their limits in conditioning. Friday's workout was particularly challenging as multiple Buffs were shown gasping for air or leaning over a trash can to throw up.
Although drenched in sweat, sophomore offensive tackle Jordan Seaton appeared less exhausted than his fellow linemen and even took the initiative to push his teammates throughout the workout. After seeing one exhausted lineman taken out of the workout by a trainer, Seaton urged him to return: "He not quitting," the left tackle said multiple times before jumping back into the next running line.
Seaton uplifted others later in the workout as well, reaffirming his development as a leader.
During spring camp, Colorado coach Deion Sanders praised Seaton's growing ability to make his teammates better.
"He's encouraging the guys, telling them what they did and what they need to do," Sanders said of Seaton. "He's such a good young man, not just the talent, but the character. That's what we're looking for here at CU: smart, tough, fast, disciplined young men with character. He epitomizes that."
Seaton may prefer to lead by example, but with some respect to his name following a strong true freshman season, he seems to be developing a greater voice within the program.
"I've never been a big talker or big yelling guy during workouts and stuff, but now I'm just leading by action," Seaton said in March. "When you lead in action, you don't really have to say too much because you're seeing it. So it's either you're going to rise to what I'm doing or you're going to be left behind."
The leadership Jordan Seaton showing is special and he’s only a sophomore

After losing quarterback Shedeur Sanders, wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, safety Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig and other leaders to the NFL, Seaton's willingness to lead is likely appreciated by "Coach Prime." Other returning players who may be looked at to set the standard include cornerback DJ McKinney, wide receivers Drelon and Omarion Miller, defensive end Arden Walker and defensive back Preston Hodge. Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter and incoming freshman Julian "JuJu" Lewis must also lead as they compete for Colorado's starting quarterback job.
“I look at leadership in two ways,” Seaton said in the spring. “You got people who show up and do their job and not really talk, and then you got the ones who bring the group together.”
Seaton's sophomore season with the Buffs is still nearly three months away, but expectations are high for the budding NFL Draft prospect. He'll look to lead a new-look offensive line that has added incoming transfers Xavier Hill (Memphis), Zy Crisler (Illinois), Larry Johnson III (Tennessee), Mana Taimani (Ole Miss) and others this offseason.

Savion Hiter is an elite 2026 running back recruit and he had a chance to choose to play his college ball just about anywhere in the country. With nearly 30 offers in hand, Hiter, from Mineral, Virginia, had narrowed his interest list down to four schools: Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee and Georgia. It was the Wolverines who ultimately won this big-time recruiting battle, as Hiter announced his commitment to Sherrone Moore and his staff on Tuesday. “Michigan has a lot of tradition and history of winning, and the running backs run similar plays to what I’m used to so I could definitely see myself in that offense,” Hiter told Rivals in the past regarding the Wolverines. This will go down as a massive commitment for Moore and his staff. Not only was OSU on the other end of this thing, but beating out Georgia and Tennessee is easier said than done, even for Michigan. According to the 247Sports Composite, Hiter is ranked as the No. 1 running back recruit in the 2026 class and the No. 9 player overall. Running backs coach Tony Alford played a big role in getting Hiter to lean Michigan's way. He, along with Moore, made an impact with the five-star. “Coach Alford, he’s a great coach,” Hiter has said in the past. “He knows how to coach 'em right. He has a great relationship with all his running backs. (Alford) knows how to coach 'em up. “(Coach Moore) has plenty of great years to come. The whole staff makes it feel like home every time I’m there.” Checking in at nearly 6-foot, 200 pounds, Hiter rushed for 1,698 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior for Louisa County High School.
The Pittsburgh Steelers surprisingly had a few quality undrafted free agents during 2025 training camp and preseason, as many of them have put up an actual fight to make it to the 53-man roster. Unfortunately, there is very little room on the team, so some very tough decisions will have to be made on that front. Guys like Max Hurleman and JJ Galbreath have been stating their case throughout camp and into gameday, giving the coaching staff a good problem. One decision was surprisingly easy, however. During his weekly Q A chat, insider Ray Fittipaldo was asked about undrafted rookie Roc Taylor and why he was let go right after the preseason Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spoke about something that happened right before that contest. "[Roc Taylor] actually got in Tomlin's doghouse at the joint practice," Fittipaldo said. "Not sure if that's the sole reason he was cut, but maybe part of it." Fittipaldo would not expand on what happened, but head coach Mike Tomlin saw enough of the rookie before gameday. It looked like Taylor would at least get first dibs on a practice-squad spot if he was released on roster cutdown day, but now, it seems like his chance of developing in Pittsburgh is gone entirely. Now, he is just hoping someone gives him a call for a chance to be on a practice squad elsewhere. It seemed like Taylor's stock was rising after preseason Week 2. Hurleman had a very rough game, and the former Memphis Tigers standout had three receptions for 39 yards against the Bucs. He was the second-leading receiver on the team, only behind Roman Wilson. It looked like he was forcing himself onto a roster spot, but apparently, Tomlin might have just been waiting until after the game to tell him to pack his bags and try again somewhere else. Steelers' recent receiver issues make Taylor cut even more concerning What makes this decision even more rough is the fact that the Steelers have three receivers who are not healthy at all. Calvin Austin III is trying to return after missing multiple weeks of practice with an injury, Ben Skowronek recently developed a toe issue and utility man Jonnu Smith has barely participated in practice since July. Spots were opening up for undrafted rookies to take, but Taylor may have said or done something inexcusable enough to lose that chance. The Steelers entered training camp with questionable wide receiver depth, and now it's only more concerning. Wilson's recent development has been the bright spot of the preseason at that position, as Scotty Miller has been taking over the role of WR3 since the game against Tampa Bay. That's why they brought in another possibly injured veteran, Gabe Davis, for a visit, and now they may be hoping that he does not sign elsewhere. Instead of Taylor taking the opportunity to push for a roster spot, guys like Hurleman and Brandon Johnson will be looking to make the team and stick around as numerous players recover from their injuries. With Davis having another visit on Wednesday and the Steelers playing in the preseason finale on Thursday, he most likely will not be signed until after that game. That means the bubble players can prove to the team that they don't need him. It's not public in regards to what Taylor did to get himself in trouble, but he could have had this prime opportunity to be on an active roster as an undrafted rookie. He could have easily been above Hurleman and Johnson on the depth chart. Instead, he is just hoping he makes any team's practice squad now.
The New York Giants have one of the deepest quarterback rooms in the NFL, and there has been speculation that Jameis Winston could be the odd man out when the regular season begins. It does not sound like Winston is going anywhere, however. Russell Wilson is expected to be the Giants' starting quarterback in Week 1. The big question is whether Jaxson Dart or Winston will enter the year as Wilson's primary backup. Dart has played well through two preseason games, and Brian Daboll and his coaching staff have raved about the former Ole Miss star. Some have wondered if the Giants could entertain trade offers for Winston should they decide they view Dart as their No. 2 quarterback. Assistant general manager Brandon Brown was asked about that on Tuesday, and he all but ruled it out. "I appreciate people that are interested, but Jameis is a New York Giant. The way that he's gone about his business from day one, he's made it very intentional of the fact that he wants to be here and he wants to be here for the long haul," Brown said. "Teammates love him. His preparation process, whether it's the off-field things that he does in terms of community relations, Bible studies, things in the locker room, galvanizing the group together — not just the quarterback room, but the offense as a whole. "He's been comic relief, but he's also been a really good example of how to be a pro and handle your business in terms of prehab, rehab and postgame care. So, I'm happy he's here, and he's gonna continue to do those things. He hasn't wavered, and he hasn't been shaken by any distractions at all." Winston signed a two-year, $8M contract with the Giants in free agency this offseason. The deal could climb as high as $16M with incentives, but he would need to play quite a bit to hit those. The Giants value Winston's extensive experience, just as they value Dart's upside. There is a reason they signed both Wilson and Winston and traded up to draft Dart. They believe in all three players, and they likely will not be inclined to trade Winston unless they receive an excellent offer.
With just over a month remaining in the Major League Baseball regular season, the Kansas City Royals find themselves 2.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the American League. While K.C. is surging at the right time (riding a five-game win streak), they’re going to need Bobby Witt Jr. to continue being Bobby Witt Jr. to crash the postseason party. While Witt’s numbers are down compared to last season, he hit his 100th home run of his career to continue his eight-game winning streak, becoming the youngest Royal ever to reach the milestone. He’s also became just the fourth player in MLB history with 100+ home runs and 100+ steals in his first four seasons (Darryl Strawberry, Barry Bonds, Julio Rodriguez). Which brings us to today’s quiz. Witt finished second in American League MVP voting behind Aaron Judge in 2024, slashing .332/.389/.588 to win the Batting Title while mashing 32 home runs and driving in 109 runs. With that being said, how many of the MLB players with at least 25 home runs in 2024 can you name in five minutes? Good luck! Did you like this quiz?
