Height: 6051 (verified)

Weight: 299lbs (verified)

Year: Seventh-Year Senior

Pro Comparison: Sean Harlow

Scouting Overview

Oregon State Beavers offensive lineman Joshua Gray is an older player who has rolled up significant starting experience throughout his college career. Gray is a good mover and a plus athlete who could potentially earn looks at center on account of his limited length and reach (32” arm length).

Gray has experience playing on the edge as a tackle, but his pro projection will be inside. Gray has light feet, fluid body control, and good core strength — a blend that should hold intrigue from coaches and executives on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft

2025 NFL Combine Results

Position Name School 40-Yard Dash 10-Yard Split Broad Jump Vertical Jump 3-Cone Drill 20-Yard Shuttle Bench Press
OL Joshua Gray Oregon State 5.04 1.73 104 31

Positives

  • Lateral mobility to win and seal gaps or stretch the point of attack jump off the screen
  • Plays with an admirable toughness and tenacity that is required for a smaller player in the trenches
  • Plays with requisite pad level and leverage to play firmly through the ground when anchoring

Negatives

  • Possesses non-starter arm length for teams to play on the edge and will frequently be out-reached with his frame
  • Is overactive with leverage when executing protection exchanges against twists and games
  • Improved penalties in 2024 (2) but was flagged 19 total times from 2021-2023 playing at tackle

Background

Gray is from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and played high school football for Rancho Cucamonga HS. There, he was a 3-star recruit who committed to play at Oregon State over offers from Nebraska, Arizona, and others.

He would go on to play one game across his first two seasons, grayshirting in 2018 and redshirting in 2019 while appearing in one contest. Gray would then go on to start 44 consecutive games at left tackle for Oregon State from 2020 to 2023, missing the final two games of the 2023 season with a foot injury.

He would go on to drop inside and play left guard in 2024, starting all 12 games to set the program record with 56 career starts at Oregon State. For his play, he was named Second-Team All-PAC 12 three times. After the 2024 season, Gray accepted an invitation to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl to culminate his college career.

Ideal Scheme Fit, Role

Gray projects as a developmental zone guard or center at the next level. He’s better served as a guard in a zone system, but could be a scheme-transcendent option if manning the middle.

He has not played center in college, however, leaving him as a developmental dice roll for teams.
