Julian Sayin’s admission after Ohio State’s win over Washington makes Jeremiah Smith’s game-changing play even more impressive

That 18-yard touchdown to Smith on a catch and run was just what the Buckeyes needed before halftime to get them on the board with a lead at halftime. Sayin made his first career road start against Washington and handled things well in a tough environment. The Buckeyes starter went 22-of-28 passing for 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ohio State’s offense was well-balanced with 149 yards on the ground led by freshman Bo Jackson with 80 yards on 17 attempts. 

The win at Washington was a good measuring stick for this Buckeye team. Ohio State’s first three games went well but they all came at home. The defense showed that they can travel and play well in Week 5 under Matt Patricia and the first-year starter at quarterback performed well. Next up for the Buckeyes is a home date with the Minnesota Gophers.
