The Alabama offensive line returns starting offensive linemen, Kadyn Proctor, Parker Brailsford Jaeden Roberts.
The Crimson Tide brought in Kam Dewberry from Texas A&M to play left guard but perhaps the most important position on the Alabama front heading into 2025 is right tackle.
Last season at right tackle, Alabama had Elijah Pritchett and Wilkin Formby. Formby was the starter until the South Florida game, where he allowed four pressures and was responsible for four penalties, including a holding call that erased a long touchdown run by Milroe.
Pritchett took over from that point on, but he transferred to Nebraska this offseason, meaning that Formby will be asked to step up and play a big role in Alabama’s offense.
As Formby’s teammate and roommate, Proctor is one of Formby’s closest friends and has full confidence in Formby’s ability to play right tackle.
“Wilkin Formby is my guy man,” Proctor said at SEC Media Days. “I got so much love for him. He’s been doing such a good job at the mental piece and asking for help and really not worrying about what people have to say. I’ve had to tell him that I’ve went through this before, and I’m glad that he can ask me questions. I will always keep it real with him. As of right now with the physical piece, he’s working his tail off in that weight room right now. He’s got so much focus in the meeting rooms, and I can tell that he’s going to be ready when he steps on that field.”
Proctor alluded to having a difficult season as a first-year starter in 2023, but he believes the most important battle to win is in the mind.
“I feel like I got flustered a lot,” Proctor said. “It’s hard thinking. I play slower when you think. You get to the ball and you’re not really sure about what you’re doing. That was the biggest part. Not the weight or anything like that, because I played last season ten pounds heavier than my freshman season and I had better stats than my freshman year. So, I feel like it’s just thinking. It’s hard mentally. It’s a mental challenge, especially playing in tough environment.”
