Alabama had its second scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, and while the offensive and defensive performances received solid reviews from head coach Kalen DeBoer, he shared that kicker Conor Talty had some missed field goals today.

DeBoer said Talty has done a solid job putting in work on campus and in the complex, but it sounds like he has a little more room for growth before the Tide’s season opener.

“Just keep getting work in the stadium,” DeBoer said about what Talty needs to keep doing to improve. “He missed a couple today, so from a field goal standpoint, the ones further out, probably 38 to 44, somewhere in there. Between a couple of those, so, got to keep getting him to work. I wasn’t disappointed that he didn’t hit them all because he’s done a nice job in our practices, and we’ve been working that every day with him being new and that whole unit being new. So, we got to keep working.”

Last year, Talty converted three PATs in as many tries while serving as the Tide’s backup placekicker. He handled all kickoff duties in 2024.

Talty’s growth in the next few weeks will be an intriguing storyline to follow as the season opener against Florida State approaches.
