Ty Simpson remains Alabama football’s projected starting quarterback ahead of fall camp.
Kalen DeBoer confirmed this at SEC Media Days while fielding questions.
“Ty Simpson would be the guy that would take the first snaps to be our starter,” DeBoer said. “Challenged all of them at that time, that they have to continue to take the strides. They got to continue in their own ways, improve. They’ve really, I know work hard to do that, and excited to see that progress two weeks from today, but they have the tools. Ty throws a catchable ball. He’s smart. He’s been in college football now. He’s going into year four. He sees the ups and down. He’s got a great relationships with the team. He’s a leader that way. He’s really owns things, I think, on another level.”
Alabama football’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb confirmed Ty Simpson was the Tide’s projected starter at the end of spring.
Simpson remains in a good position to take hold of the Alabama offense in 2025 a couple of weeks ahead of fall camp.
